Lauryn Withnell Performance Review by Jen Bush

Lauryn Withnell was born into a family of performing artists which she was destined to join on stage. She was singing complicated showtunes while she was still in her car seat. At the age of 7 little Lauryn with big talent joined her family to form the vocal quartet, The Withnells. They had the honor of being chosen to perform as artist on board across Canada on Via Rail for Canada’s 150th birthday celebration. Ms. Withnell’s training at prestigious art schools such as The Boston Conservatory at Berklee led to her playing iconic leading theatre roles such as Cassie from A Chorus Line, which requires intricate dance moves. It was her skill with those dance moves that got her dancing gigs for Justin Timberlake and Tony Nominee Constantine Maroulis.
At the Boston Conservatory at Berklee senior showcase, Ms. Withnell was one of 10 students chosen out of 50 to perform. She wowed the crowd with her dynamic dance moves and vocal skills.
Seeing Ms. Withnell in a number called “Believer” will make you a believer in this talented artist. She’s featured centerstage in the group of five dancers. She kicks high, does a split and is lifted high in the air by all of her fellow dancers. It’s a fun upbeat number with high energy.
“Love me or Leave me” is a sultry jazzy number with two couples. Ms. Withnell certainly has versatility. She is equally as strong dancing solo as she is with a partner. She has excellent chemistry with her dance partner as she is lifted, twirled and spun. The different dance styles she learned and excels at are featured in this number.

In “Let It Go” Ms. Withnell commands the stage as she sings the iconic song from “Frozen”. Her interpretation is comedic, and the crowd eats it up. Her voice goes from sweet to soaring, showing that she possesses a wide vocal range.
Lauryn Withnell is a skilled entertainer. She’s multi-talented and has an irresistible stage presence. There’s no business like show business for this engaging artist who is sure to sing and dance her way to success.
