FOR YOUR APPROVAL: the short film, THE FEATHER; currently preparing for festival submissions.

The Feather is a microbudget Viking-era epic produced on an LED volume through emerging virtual production workflows at the Martin Scorsese Virtual Production Center at NYU Tisch in the spring.

THE PLOT: Iida Piironen and James Overton portray married Viking chieftains, Hilda and Aldrik, and face the ultimate test when a prophecy decrees that both will die in battle but only one may enter Valhalla. The film also stars Taylor Leigh Davis as Skuld and Chris Savery as Eldbjörn.
As each secretly plots to ensure the other’s place in the warrior’s paradise, Hilda and Aldrik’s story reveals deeper truths about love, honor, and equality in the Norse world.

Among burning villages and divine prophecies, this intimate epic challenges traditional notions of glory and gender while exploring how true devotion might transcend even the laws of the gods.
The Feather was directed by Elliana Bertrand, Joyce Hills, Chris Smith, James Watson, and Ziyi Zhang, with Christina Wang as Director of Photography. This compelling film was imagined and written by the same team.
